Lake McConaughy will host its first ATV riding event – ATV Jamboree at Lake McConaughy. September 27-29, 2013. This event will be a fun time and provide a great riding area for ATV enthusiasts.
This is the first time the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (NGPC) has permitted ATV riding at the state’s largest lake recreation area. The event is hosted by the Keith County Area Development and the Ogallala/Keith County Chamber of Commerce - a lot of thought was brought to the table by NGPC, the KCAD and Ogallala/Keith County Chamber of Commerce to keep this event safe and fun for all that wish to register and ride at Lake Mac.
The event will stretch from Arthur Bay to Sandy Beach at Lake McConaughy for over 1,000 acres of riding area. ATV riding will be limited to the specified event area only for registered participants.
The ATV Jamboree at Lake McConaughy will begin on Friday, Sept. 27, at noon and concludes on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 4 pm. The event is open to all ATV/UTV riders 18 years and older - although riders under 18 are permitted if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian or with a signed/notarized release.
Events being planned for the weekend include an ATV/UTV Poker Run, guided tours, dealer displays, open riding, and live entertainment and a beer garden at Lone Eagle Campground on Saturday, 5-8 pm after all riding concludes for the day.
Registration is $50 per vehicle and is limited to the first 1,000 vehicles registered. Online registration is available at www.explorekeithcounty.com or call 800-658-4390 to register or for more information.
