Located in the rugged Pine Ridge ponderosa forest in the Northern Nebraska Panhandle, the ranch has been operated by the Kadlecek Family since 1890. The gentle hills and rugged canyons offer hunting opportunities. Cabins are available for rent.

We grow organic, dry land grains. harbor a small butterfly and honeybee habitat. Farm to table lifestyle w/ large vegetable and herb garden, harvesting pheasant and deer from the land, and raising grass fed beef. Neighbors provide pork, eggs and honey. We believe in simple living.

A newspaper story in a 1922 issue of the Hay Springs News reported the sighting of a Loch Ness-style monster at Alkali Lake. Rumors circulated of ranchers losing cattle to the hungry beast, but no physical evidence of the creature’s questionable existence was ever discovered.
